Scoping the Garand?

Are there any good scope mounts available for the M1 Garand? Are there any that don't require modification (i.e., removing the iron sights, drilling the stock, etc.)

Yes. The best I've seen is made by S & K in Pennsylvania.

scoped M-1

The old military model of the M-1, it was the D model was scoped. I believe it retained the "iron sights". The stock had a lace on cheek piece, to raise the shooters head, as the scope was rather high.

You aught to be able to find a photo of the D model, which should give you some ideas.
