Scoping a Rossi M92

I'm thinking about mounting a scope on my .44 mag Rossi for a planned hog hunt. I replaced the rear leaf sight with a peep sight from Steve Gunz when the sights started getting hard to see, but a scope would probably help in low light. I can either put a conventional scope on an offset receiver mount, or a longer eye relief scout or pistol scope on a rail where the rear sight used to be. Anyone do this already? What are the pros and cons of each?

I have not done this, but in my opinion lever guns are best with iron sights, and depending on how far you will be shooting from, I suggest you think about using th iron sights. Just my $0.02
