Scoping a CZ 550 Full-stock

I would love to have one of these rifles (in 6.5x55), and would mount a scope to get the most from the cartridge. But what scope? Obviously some sort of Leupold or Burris...but what one? What power? I don't want to ruin the gorgeous lines of the rifle by mounting a huge high-power scope, so what would you recommend? I notice the Leupold scopes are paralax adjusted for 150 yards -- what will happen if I do my shooting closer than that??

Hueco:
Try a straight tube like the Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-5X or the 6X variation if a little more light gathering power is worth more than the straight tube look. I have the Leupold 1-6X short tube on a half stocked Brno Hornet and am going to mount the 1-6X on a stutzen stocked 5.56 and have Warne mounts on both. I don't mind the objective bulge, though I think the straighter tube is probably more aesthetically pleasing.

One definitely doesn't need the weight and bulk of the 30mm optics on these trim little stutzens.

Hope you're as pleased with yours as I have been with mine. Good shooting.

So if I mount that scope, which is paralax adjusted to 150 yds, what bad things will happen if I do my shooting at 50 and 100 yds? My range only goes out to 100 yds!

Don't worry about parallax on sporting rifles. The reason they don't make scopes for this type of rifle with an adjustable objective is that it makes no practical difference on rifles of this type. It is only worth the worry when you are going after the ultimate in accuracy on a fine target rifle. Its for when you are worried about not getting 1/4 minute accuracy or about 1000 yd. shooting.
I agree with the recomendation of the Leupold 1.75-5 on light rifles of this type. Its as trim and good as you could hope to find.
The Nikon 2-7 Monarch is also a great scope for a light, trim rifle. Leupold has nice 2x7's also.
Of course, there are others with which I am unfamiliar.

Sorry, for not addressing all concerns initially, but the parallax adjustment is really moot for your stutzen 6.5X55 as Herodotus has noted. It's a standard adjustment that's been used on generations of scopes for hunting in which 150 meters and under are much more the norm than shots in excess of that range. The closer parallax adjustments are common only for scopes specifically designed for 22 RF and pellets. Pick a quality scope and enjoy shooting.
