Scopes in Colorado

Was reading a Cabela's flyer today here in Texas; they were offering several rifles with scopes already mounted. At the top of the ad it says "scoped combos not available in Colorado." Is that true? Whose brainstorm was that? Almost as good as Bloomberg's soda initiative ... any idea why this is so, besides that some genius lawmaker thought it up?

No optics on muzzleloaders or archery in CO. Maybe that's what they mean.
Seems to be counter productive to me. I had to pull the scope off my Knight and add a peep. Increased group size by 2x. I qualify for a crossbow during archery season in CO but would have to get a different Xbow since my Barnett is optic only. Guess they won't get my $500 a year that I won't spend on a tag.

I think one of the problem with Cabela's here in Co it's very small store as it's the entry to a strip mall and it maybe the size of a Sportman's Warehouse.

Well it is supposed to be a primative season after all. Colorado has no problems with you using a scope on your Muzzle loader or Crossbow during regular rifle season.

Muzzle loader tags are draw here in Co same with archery deer/antelope and cow elk archery tags and the draw deadline was April 3, 2012 and the only tag you can buy OTC is archery either-sex elk.

I'm not sure what date the Cabela's ad's came out but being most tags are draw they do explain restriction on weapons on the application so that shouldn't be a surprise.

He was just complaining about not getting to use his scopes on a ML or Xbow, because of the hunting regs in Colorado. Stating that he wouldn't send any money to CO for an elk tag. No big deal and my answer was supposed to be a little tongue and cheek, about some other States rules on primitive seasons.

The OP was talking about rifle and scope combos being sold at Cabela's and the ad stated "Not available in Colorado", which what Mobuck said makes sense if they were ML with scopes combos.
