I sure that a nice soft nose round will down a russin boar.I was going to bring my scoped browning a-5 12ga. with foster slugs. But the sks has such a better trajectory.Being that im sure, we will be stalking them.Any opinions on the 7.62x39 for boar.I bet it will pass right threw, with a rib shot.Im staying away from the shoulder.

I have no doubt that a SKS would be a good wild hog rifle.
I have killed a 125 pound wild boar with a .45acp.
Also killed 5 or 6 of them with a .490 round ball and a muzzleloader.
Like you said, stay away from the shoulder and hit them in the lungs, they won't go far.

I couldn't disagree more with that texasboars.com schematic.
I have killed a dozen wild hogs, and the lungs are just about the same as on a deer.
Put it right behind the shoulder and he won't go far.

The 7.62x39 should work just fine on hogs. I have also taken many hogs with broadside shots behind the shoulder, and it takes out the lungs. I stay away from hitting large bones - like the shoulder - if I plan on eating the hog.
