Its nice to see a classic rifle with a classic scope. The weaver mounts add to the package. So often the trend is to top a rifle with a scope as long as the barrel and as big around as a spare tire. To me hunting with such a rig brings back warm memories of hunts with my older realitives, most gone over the hill.
That would be sweet to take out after woodchucks or deer! What a classic set up!!!! Just right too, no black plastic or SS, just wood and blue steel...
I quess I will have to say it if nobody else will. I have admired your classic rifle on these forum, BUT..... this one has something amiss about it. Your rings are installed backwards. On classic Weaver rings, the big nut is supposed to be on the right side. Why you ask? Aint got a clue as they work just as well either way. Its just how it has been done since Harry Truman was in office. Other than that, what a classic rig you have with the single occular steel tubed Weaver.
Nice rig, Bush...a classic topped with another classic...and both look like they've been well cared for. My pal Jim and I killed a lot of woodchucks in western NY back in the early 60's with that caliber and in a Model 70 too..we had her mounted with a K4 however, and took all shots out to 300 yds with it. You've got a super deer, black bear, antelope and chuck combination there...I'm jealous!
