Scope suggestions tikka lite .222

LOOKING FOR ideas on scope to suit for the above,mostly target some varmint.
Was fitted with NYKRON 4- 8x42 which had side focus.

Have VORTEX 6-18x44 AO BDC on TIKKA CTR .243 not easy to set.

Recently put HAWKE Endurance 6-18x50 Side Focus on SAKO .308 ...happiness by comparison.
Interested to hear opinions on side focus and how it compares to AO.
 
Just about all my higher powered scopes are side focus and I do like it. but since I just target shoot the AO would do just as well, I am thinking about getting a fixed power weaver T-24 for my Tikka t3 lite in 223..right now I have a nikon buckmaster 6-18 on it, it is a very good scope with side focus but the crosshairs are a bit thick..
