scope rings

Never heard of them.
I have Warne steel rings on my wife's match rifle.
Vortex Viper aluminium rings on my hunting rifles. But alas they are now discontinued.

Since i use EGW one piece bases, i thought i'd try out their new Keystone series of rings.
WOW! Are these things overbuilt! Weight for 30mm lows is 2.25 ounces each.
So far on my 257 Roberts AI & 7mm Rem Mag there is zero movement.
At $69 a set, my vote is for these!

I don’t know what you’re putting them on, but I’d give using aluminum rings a second thought. Not my first choice.
Am I correct interpreting this comment to mean, you would be hesitant to use aluminum rings? If so, for what reasons? I know steel is harder and stronger than aluminum, but aluminum rings are easier to machine, lighter in weight, and I would think plenty strong for our purposes.

Nothing wrong with aluminum rings. The ALUMINUM scope tube will break before the aluminum rings.

I second the Warne rings use. I used aluminum Weaver rings for years, and on a .22, they are fine. Heck even up to a .308 you might keep zero.

But anything with some punch, I was finding the aluminum was buckling and the threads stripped out of the holes holding the top half of the rings on.

Switched to steel Warne’s, and have NOT gone back since. Switched all of my hunting and long range rifles to them. Worth the time and ammo investment to get my zeroes back and locked in.

But no, have never heard of TPS rings.
