I need to find someone that will do none warranty work on a scope. I have inherited a Leupold (Chinese clone) and need to have an o-ring replaced and N2 purged. It seems alittle hard to find somebody to do this being a no name brand that it is. If you know of anybody please give me a phone # or email. I'm in the Houston, TX area but dont mind if I need to send off for repairs.

Give these people a try. They repaired a HAKKO 8X40X56mm Ranging Reticle 30mm Tube Scope.
This was a second hand scope I had absolutely no information on other than what I could read on the scope body. The cross hairs were canted inside the tube. Had it rebuilt good as new $110.00 am very satisfied
Could have had it fixed for $55.00 but wanted it thoroughly refurbished, I'm a trusting sole...

Thanks Jobfix, but have already called them and they would not work on it. I have already called most of the more popular ones found in an internet search which supprisingly is not very many. Surely there is someone out there that does this. I have even talked to three different gun smiths here locally and they had nobody to reference me to. I do have a few more #s im gonna call today to check out. I didnt think this was going to be so difficult when I began looking but it has almost turned into a project now. Maybe I should learn the trade and start a sideline business and have something to retire into and pittle with.

What exactly do you have? Having a bit of a problem following.
If you have a Leupold, send it to them. The "Ironsight" folks will do USA Weavers (I think) and vintage USA Redfields.

I have a friend who owns one, he paid a dude 60 bucks for it for kicks. After handling the real one, there really is no comparison in terms of optical and mechanical quality. This is assuming we are talking about the Mark 4 counterfeits.
I liked my Simmons better than his knockoff.
I would consider investing into a decent scope. I can't imagine repair costs would be much less than the price for a new piece of decent glass.

Well Norrick, after your post and doing some thinking and research I've decided your probably right about the repair of this Leupold clone. Guess I'll trash it and learn a good lesson. I see there selling for $90 - $140 from Ebay to Gunbroker. I didnt purchase this direct initally. It came on an M1A that I bought off Gunbroker. The seller was upfront and truthful with the describtion though. I just didnt know any better at the time. I've never owned a scoped rifle before and knew little about scope brands and quality. Getting educated pretty well through the internet. Thanks for everyones input. I enjoy reading this forum and the people here.
