Scope Reccomendation

Depends on what you are going to do with the rifle. Fixed or variable power for instance. For way less than $350.00 you could get a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9 power. Around here, Leupold is about the most popular scope follwed by Burris and Nikon. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if Leupold outsells the next two combined.

Let me echo what Ankeny said. Go with a Leupold Vari-X II in 3x9x40. Here in Georgia, such scope would run about $219. Add another $40 to that for Leupold rings and base, and you're ready to go. A nice set-up that will last a lifetime, for under $300.

You will not regret it...

ditto on the Leups
my .300 wears a VariX III in 3.5-10 but 2 of my other hunting rifles have the VX IIs in 3-9 power.
Not a thing wrong with any of 'em.

Leupold Vari II 3x9. You can get them new for about $220.

Try the Bausch&Lomb Elite 3000. I have a 4x12(a 3x9 is not enough scope for your 300....mine is on a 7mm mag.) The optics are great. For the price I would put agianst any scope($250) My .02 worth.
