Hey guys, i am new to the website, i recently received a rifle for Christmas (savage model 110 30 - 06) but i as wandering.. I had my friend who is a very avid hunter sight it in for me today am i wandering if i move the whole scope backwards on the sliders were it sits so i can see into the scope better and more comfortably will that affect the aim of the rifle?

thanks, Kyle

Once you loosen the scope rings and move the scope it will probably be slightly off and need to be re-sighted in.

Chances are though, just sliding it a little bit rearward it will still be real close, but your going to need to go shoot it to see.

One of the things that has allways bugged me is haveing someone else sighting in a weapon.

With rare exceptions, Someone else cannot sight your rifle in. Your body is different than your buddys. Changing bodies changes the strike of the bullet.

Your buddy can get the rifle on target but you and only you can sight the rifle in.

Recently I took a rifle off the rack and shot it. 10 years and 60 lbs had changed the sight picture so much that I had to totally remount the Scope.

My son who is my build 20 years ago could shoot it accurately. I could not.
