Scope mounts on AK clones 922r compliant?

If this has been covered previously, and it bothers you, ignore. A Wasr-10 has 5 US compliant parts, if you add a cheap Chi-com scope mount and a Bushnell red dot , are you still legal? I do not see scopes or mounts on the list of parts that are considered significant

It's not the number of US made parts you have to worry about, its the number of foreign made parts you have to worry about. The list you referenced are the parts in question, with a typical stamped AK having either 15 or 16 922r eligible parts depending on whether it has a muzzle attachment or not. If yours is a 16 part WASR (and most current production ones are), then 5 US made parts is not going to cut it. You need 6 in order to bring your foreign part count down to 10 (remember, it's foreign parts that matter here). If yours is a 15 part WASR (welded barrel nut), then you are good to go.

Luckily for you (and many many other rifle owners) scope mounts and optics do not count as 922r eligible parts.

Here is a nice cheat sheet. Just uncheck the part if it is US made, and leave it checked if it is foreign made. Go down the list, and double check that your WASR is compliant.

Thanks for the clarification, I have brought up this point in other posts. I noticed that the scope and mount were not on the list, but I my mind, I want to be 100% sure before I venture out with a rifle to the range. I don't want any smoke from the Federal Govt. on any level.

That one I had not picked up on, i.e. the foreign pats part.

Good to know (actually very very good) .

Usually I recommend a setup for the MAK90 that has 6 anyway.

Now I can be sure its fine for all!

If it's not on the 922r list, it isn't counted either way. The dust cover isn't on the list either (IIRC). It is only the parts specifically listed that matter, and even then, those only count if the rifle in question even has those parts (if there's no threaded muzzle, then "muzzle device" is irrelevant and not counted either way).
