Scope mounting help

Hey guys i just put this scope on my x bolt for the time being till i get my leupold vx 3. what i am wondering is should i get the low mounts or keep theses on it.

Doesn't look like you have much room to play with the objective lens, and if you're saving for a VX-3, I would just wait and get a nice set of Leupold rings to go with.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it...

When i had the gun at work the other day i could fit a 50mm obj on it. The scope sits about a 1/4 in off the barrel.

I'm not seeing a problem with these ??

I don't have a problem with the front bell but do you see any problem with the bolt handle clearing the rear bell? I like low mount scopes and one of my target rifles clears by less than 1/4" inch.

An important fundamental in rifle shooting is keeping your head straight, (equilibrium and all that).

You bring your rifle up to your head not the head to the rifle. (or eyes).

You pick the height of the rings that best accomplishes that goal.
