I bought a new to me Remington 11-87. It came with a 21" Cantilevered barrel and scope mounted to it. I couldn't hit anything with it, so I decided to remount the scope. Turns out that someone bubbaed the scope mount.
It looks like prior owner took a Weaver scope mount meant for a curved based and screwed it to the square cantilever. They even drilled a new hole where one didn't fit.
My problem is that I can't figure out what is supposed to go there. There are notches and screw hole (one is which was filled by bubba), but the cantilever is too thin for a weaver mount.
Ideally, I'd get a picatinny rail for it: ( http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=655312 ), but I'm not sure that I will be able to mount this. Any ideas would help. I can post some pictures, if needed.
Thanks for any thoughts
