While I cannot attest to either its effectiveness or durability, Aimtech makes a scope mount for the S&W422. Brownell's sells it for $56.99 (cat#017-422-001). It requires neither drilling nor tapping (so does it shift?) and is lightweight (made from old Landrovers or Coors cans). It accepts Weaver Top Mount style rings or Aimpoint.
