Scope mount for Dan Wesson .44 mag

Has anyone found a good scope mount and used it on their D.W.? I don't mind drilling and tapping if needed. Thanks- goodshot

I've got a pair of the Millett rings that clamp over the vent rib. They have never moved since being mounted, but I've got them on a .357.

Thanks for the response Joe! You wouldn"t happen to remember if your rings are made especially for a D.W. rib or are they rings that just happened to fit? -goodshot-

They are made for DW vent ribs. They come in two different sizes, one for small frame and the other for large frame (.44).

They also offer a base/ring setup that needs to have a couple of holes drilled and tapped in the top of the rib.

I used a "no-gunsmithing" mount from B-Square on my DW .357 SuperMag. It installed very well and did not come loose.

Just call DW and get a shroud tapped with Rings.

The nosmith approach will marr the surface and you will have to have it reblasted to fix it (like I had to have done with my 445SM). It is better to have a shroud with permanent rings and have another with sights because sooner or later you will want to use open sights for something. This way you zero won't be disturbed.
