Scope ID

I posted up a while ago about a scope I have for my AR. The pictures I had were pretty bad so I couldnt get a solid answer. There are no markings because it's been painted over in a pretty bad camouflage pattern. The previous owner claimed it was a Leupold, but I really dont think it is. What I can tell you is its a 4-14x.. Anyway, heres some pictures that are a bit better. I dont have a camera so the camera phone will have to suffice for now. Thanks for any help.

It's my understanding that Leupold scopes don't have screws in the finger click adjustments. Also, every Leupold scope I've seen has a serial number. LINKY for Leupold counterfeit page. There is a Leupold phone number on that page that can help you in identifying that scope, or more properly, tell you whether or not it is a Leupold.

Frankly, I doubt it's a Leupold.

It doesn't look anthing like any Leupold I've ever seen. The scope adjustment knobs look similar to a Simmons scope I own. Nothing else I own has adjustment knobs even close.

I agree that it's most likely not a Leupold. Also, on the bottom is what appears to be the serial number. Above it are the letters S A. I'm attaching a picture of that as well as the magnification adjustment. The BDC ranges from 2-7, which I presume is for hundreds of yards, though if it's not from the US of A would probably be meters?

Also, I am curious as to what the other parts of the reticle are. I know what the BDC is, but not what the 2 and 3 to the right of the cross hairs, and the 4 to the left. I was thinking windage holds or quick range estimations but the placement seems sporadic.

I'm thinking those off set images are range finding brackets. Choke style range finding bracket, similar to a POSP scope on an SVD, Except no ski jump appearance ' its ...brackets. The space between the bracket represents what .....say 1.5 meters at a given distance. If a standing human, from shoulders to feet, fits in the bracket, the target is "x" distance.

I'm saying not a Leu either, not even close. The little ears on the bottom of the sight picture seem familiar, something I've seen in a Sportsman guide catalog maybe.

Super sniper, something like that.
