Scope for Win 9422

What is a good scope for a Winchester 9422? I don't want a big riflescope because I want the parallax to be at 50-60 yds instead of 100+
Not looking for fancy. Just a clear utilitarian scope. Also will I need one of those hammer offset things or is there a scope that will clear the hammer enough to set it down if I don't shoot?

Lavan, I don't know.

What I do know is that I bought a Win 9422M w/a pos 4X Tasco on it! Said scope is OK, but I took it off first thing (something about a scope on a Lever Gun).

What I also know is that there was an extention adapter that went onto the receiver grooves that had an undercut portion in the front so as to allow more rail in front of where the rails stop on the receiver. This allowed Tasco to be mounted or positioned further forward than would have been possible w/o extention rail. This effected eye relief (for the better). There was a hammer extention that would be needed for that setup, I recommend you get one.

I also know that I bought a Simmonds 22MAG 4X scope for another gun that for ~$50, is a great scope for the money!! This included rings! :) This scope is set for proper parallax for a .22rf. This is a clear scope that might be good for a 9422. Luck.
anodes.

I put an older used Bushnell Banner 6X32mm on my 9422 XTR Classic in .22WMR.

Cost me $45 in new shape.

The Mount adapter is a Weaver T-09(?). The correct Weaver adapter for the 9422 will only fit the 9422. I slid a thin piece of nylon under the mount to avoid having the tightening screws mar the receiver top. I use Tasco World Class steel low .22 rings.

You only need the thumb extension if you have thick thumbs. I did not need it.

Don't know about your particular application, but I can cast a second vote of confidence for the simmons 22mag scope. It is small, lightweight, and has a crisp sight picture. It is taken many a knock while hiking through brush, and hasn't lost its zero yet...

Scope on a lever gun!?
Blasphemy! Blasphemy I say!

Probably the coolest scope ever, for this rifle, would be the 3/4" tube Redfield scope--the one they discontinued (apparently) a few years ago. It was perfectly proportioned to the 94/22. I bought a set of their very nice 3/4" steel rings--the only quality rings in that size--to go on my 94/22. A year or so later, when I wanted to buy the scope, it was no longer available.(Still looking at the shows)

Just bought a Cabela's "Pine Ridge" 2.5-7 'shotgun/blackpowder' scope to go on a 10/22; parallax is 50 yds., it has a nice wide field, is fully multi-coated, and looks great (workmanship and finish really are better than any other 'cheap' scope I've seen in a while).

Price was 59.99 plus shipping. I haven't had it on the rifle yet, but the optics seem quite crisp. It's compact enough that I may get another for the 94/22.

Best,weegee
