Scope for Redhawk

I recently picked up a Redhawk with a 7.5" tube. I'm considering scoping it and would like some suggestions. Since this is not a Super, mounting a scope is something else I need input on.

I don't think the recoil is bad at all, but I've heard 44's regularly tear up scopes. Of course, I'd rather not pay a fortune for one but I want one that can handle sitting atop a Redhawk.

I've got a 7 1/2" Redhawk with the Ruger factory rings. After looking at just about every scope available, it came down to the Burris or Leupold, both just under $200. I bought the Burris because of the wider range of eye relief. Over a year later and over a thousand full snort loads later I'm still happy :) I'd stay away from the variable scopes, stick with the 2x models, and if you have the Redhawk without integral mounts, check out http://www.jackweigand.com/
