Scope for AR-15 Varmint Hunting

I'm looking for something quasi-affordable here. I have a SigTac Holo sight on my Armalite M15, but I'm looking for something more accurate to use for varmint hunting. I would like something with adjustable magnification. I'm mainly concerned with making sure it is rugged enough to hit what I'm shooting at without falling to pieces with repeated use or going off the PoA.

Oh, and sub $250 would be nice.
 
What magnification range are you looking for? If it is in the lower magnification range i would suggest the nikon prostaff with a mil-dot reticle, But in a higher magnification i can't give you to much advice.
