Scope for a Sako carbonlight in 260 rem

Firstly good morning to all of you from Australia. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I just purchased a brand new Sako carbonlight here in OZ. I understand there are only a couple in this country at present. It is chambered in 260rem which suits me just fine as my wife will be using it. I am not a long range hunter as most of my shooting is done to a max of 300mtrs. Now for the question what scope would you put on top of a rifle that weight 2.6kg? It has the Sako 20 inch barrel. Personally I was thinking a Swarovski z6 (non illuminated as less weight). Any suggestion would be welcome before I part with $2500 here in Oz for Z6. I was also looking at the new NF atac f1 but I have no experience at all with nightforce. Not sure of the 850gr weight either. To me the point of having a light rifle is to keep everything light. Thank you

Welcome to TFL!

As far as scopes go if you want light then Swarovski and Leupold make pretty much the lightest scopes around. I think a Z6 is a great scope and all but for your range you plan to use it on, I think you'd be well served by a Z3 3-9X36 or 3-10X42. For Leupold I'd look at the VX3 2.5-8X36, VX2 3-9X40 or FX3 fixed 6X42. The Leupold and Swarovski scopes will weigh about 1/3 the weight of the Night Force.

I'd be looking into a Leupold VX3 or VX6.
The VX3s are extremely light, but only a 3x magnification range.
The VX6s are heavier, but still extremely light for what you get.

The Leupolds should be cheaper than the Swarovski options but that doesn't mean they are worse.

Thank you for your input. I will be looking a Leupold vx6. The problem here in Oz everything is Over priced so there is only a small difference between a Vx6 and a Z6.
