Scope Decision Help Wanted

Ok I have 300 rum with Hart custom break. It still has a bit of a kick. (Which is fine with me). This is not so fine for optics. If I had all the money in the world nightforce and well that would be the end of it, but we are in a recession. What I want is something that will hold a zero and will dial out to 600-1000 yds consistently. I also want to stay in the $500 range. I had a two scopes in mind Millett 6-25x56 LRS-1 Tactical 35mm Riflescope ($450). or SWFA SS 10x42 Tactical Riflescope / SWFA SS 20x42 Tactical Riflescope (both 300). I don't mind fixed power. I also don't need something that will be used in low light conditions. (fair weather shooter). Now I have a few go too guys for gun question but they are purest and if it doesn't cost 1200++ is should stay on a .22 in their opinion (so no help on that front.). I am new to this forum, but T.F.L is highly recommended. So if anyone has first hand experience with these optics your help would be greatly appreciated or any other suggestions. THX Benny

Yes I have really been considering a millet. I have two big apprehensions is whether a Millet will hold up to the recoil will it consistently dial back to zero and if the 1/4 MOA is exact.

get a cheaper leupold or nikon or some other brand with a lifetime no questions asked warranty, install and forget about it. I picked up my nikon 2.5-10x56mm on my .325 wsm (similar to .300 rum) and it's never moved. my dad has a zeiss conquest on his .300 rum and its outstanding, but my nikon is VERY comparable at 1/2 the price (got mine for $645 compared to his $1200).

good luck and great gun.
