Scope cantilever mount question

I just ordered the Vortex Strike Eagle scope and got a free cantilever mount with it. The one I got is a 2” offset. What does this mean? Is the offset the amount of eye relief? They had a 3” offset as well but I went with the 2”

Yes, a cantilever mount moves the rings forward in relation to the mounting area on the receiver. In this case 2”.

A 2” offset is perfect for a Strike Eagle mounted to an AR upper. Good to go!!
