School shooting in Detroit

Happened today, first a church shooting, now one in school. I am so glad not to live in Detroit anymore. Moved out back in 1973 and live in Canton, which is about 30 miles west of Detroit. we have one of the safest cities in Michigan if not the country, and the police do not give you any trouble when applying for a pistol permit or CCW. Here is the link to the shooting.

A gunman was on the loose outside of Owen Elementary on Detroit’s west side Wednesday. He allegedly robbed a teacher inside the school.

First the church, then the zoo fiasco, now this. Whats next? In reading the link it doesn't say anything about any shooting, just that the BG robbed the teacher.

I'm sorry I said shooting in school, should read gunman in school. But my point was to point out the state of affairs in Detroit.

I'm with ya. I love living 45 minutes out of a city that has some new form of human scum causing devastation in a city that can't catch a break with the media (some deserved and some a little twisted as the media likes to do). Atleast the Super Bowl went somewhat smooth. I had a blast down at Cobo for the NFL experience. City looked really good in my opinion.

That's it? I had to walk 8 blocks from the MGM to Winterblast and then a few more to get down to cobo after dark down streets that most don't even like to drive down, with only one other person with me (so no safety in numbers), and I didn't have any trouble. I didn't even carry that night, not that I could into Cobo (i think) but I could have at Campus Martius at the winterblast. Detroit is not as bad as it seems. Just like every other metropolis in this great country we live in there are areas you can walk freely in and areas you should not go into unless you are in a tank. I live 20 min. south of Flint, a much smaller city in comparison to Detroit, and I would rather walk around Detroit.
