If you were to suggest an "expert" to participate in a forum hosted by a national stakeholder on the issue of guns in schools, who would you recommend? Not an "operator" who would advise on tactics, although some basic knowledge would be necessary, but a legal mind who knew the statistics and was a good speaker. Very calm also. Certainly don't want a Jeff Yeager/ Alex Jones incident. I would sure like to suggest someone who would be willing to volunteer their time beyond paid expenses, but if there is a fee required that isn't unfeasible.
 
My problem with Grossman is he makes his living convincing people they need to be prepared for an Al Quaida attack on schools. He exploits fear and sounds paranoid to anyone outside the choir. He uses phrases like "If I could tackle every American...", "Islamist fanatics have slaughtered children in their own religion — they have killed wantonly, mercilessly, and without regard for repercussion or regret of any kind." That kind of expression is not going to succeed.
I'm not looking for someone to prepare people tactically, rather someone who knows the legal issues and history inside and out. Frankly, there are a few people on this forum i thought might qualify or have close contact with people who do and I was hoping for a volunteer.

They have and still do.

However, remove the word "Islamist" and "religion" and you have every other school shooter in the country.

Ok - what is this thread about?

If the OP wants recommendations and won't share the details of the call and we just start to pull apart who is recommended - this isn't going anywhere.

I won't close it - yet. I suggest that given the anonymous nature of the request - suggest names to the OP through PM.

If the OP wants to lay this out in more detail - please do.
 
I don't want to lay this out in more detail b/c I don't want to take the chance that people will contact on their own. A flood of phone calls bugging about this issue will not serve any purpose.
