Schmidt-Rubin, What Ammo is Safe?

Hello, I just bought a Schmidt-Rubin with as serial number in the 363,000's which puts it as made in the year 1913 model "1911 Infantry Rifles (Infanteriegewehre)." I was looking at some ammunition online and came
accross this website selling Partizan 7.5x55 swiss:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/34...-75xmm55-swiss-174-grain-soft-point-box-of-20
It says that this ammo is not suitable for the Model 1889 because of the pressure. Would this ammo be ok to shoot in my rifle being a k-11? If not what ammo is suitable?
Thank You,

The Prvi ammo should be perfectly safe in your gun. Prvi ammo is loaded to similar specs as the Swiss GP11 cartridge (though most will say that the surplus ammo is more accurate) and as such is safe in the Models 96/11, G11, K11, and K31. The older rifles which would not be safe with this ammo are the Model 1889 and 1896 as they were chambered for the older 7.5x53.5 black powder cartridge. Your K11 was designed with smokeless powder in mind so any surplus or commercial (Prvi, Hornady, or Norma) 7.5x55 ammo is perfectly safe for you to shoot.

I highly recommend you purchase some GP11 when it comes up for sale next(not sure if it is on the shelf at a reasonable price anywhere now). Although it may seem a bit expensive, it is of higher grade than almost any commercial production target ammunition on the market and is much cheaper. A K31 shooting GP11 has to be by far the cheapest center-fire target set-up available. I don't think the K11 lags behind.

The first time I shot a group with mine, admittedly only at 100 yards my reaction was something like "Holy excrement! Did I just do that?!"

Thanks for your help guys!
Also I was doing some more research and another question came up. I found out that 1911 rifles with serial numbers between 350000-365000 have a 1-9" barrel twist ratio compared to the normal 1-10.6"
Anyone know why the Swiss did this or why they stopped? Also does this make mine more collectible because it falls in that range?
Thanks for the Help,

Yes. Any ammunition manufactured today is perfectly fine in a Model 1911 or K31.

It's probably best not to use modern ammunition in Model 1896/11 rifles, and you must NEVER use modern ammunition in Model 1889 rifles.

I believe that the change in rifling twist coincided with some minor alterations to the bullet design and propellant in the GP11 cartridge.
