SCCY

I had a SCCY that I was looking at. It scared the heck out of me. The first two times I racked it it failed to feed, then on the thired time it jamed. I didn't even fire the thing. Got rid of it Quick. I hope that nobody has this problem but I say stay away from them.

I looked at getting one myself, the prices on them sure are nice. However I made sure to do some research... and they don't enjoy the best reputation. They look like Kel-Tec clones, and supposedly have better fit and finish than Kel-Tec's but, functionally they are said to be considerably worse than Kel-Tecs. Kel-Tec in and of it itself has a hit or miss reputation (though I have one that's been absolutely wonderful, put a box of ammo through it just yesterday, in fact), so I wouldn't take a chance on a SCCY.

Keltecs are unjustly maligned by people who don't (or can't) understand them.
They are a professional's gun.
The Sccy is a cheap copy of the Keltec.

They are a professional's gun.

And just what professionals would this be?
Im not dogging Keltec, but they are a decent quality low priced gun maker.
I know when i think of what gun a professional uses HK,Sig and Glock come to mind.

research is my next move

Since the SCCY I have had alot of fire arms brought to my attenchon. I am a big GLock fan of the 9mm, So a friend said that i should try the walther pps. It is in my price range in the near future but I would like to get some reviews of the fire arm please. I would like to know jamming problems failer to feed or out and out kb. Thanks

Professionals who know what the Keltecs are supposed to do, and how to make them do it.

Soooooo...

Are you saying that it takes some kind or other professional to make a Kel-Tec work right?

Guess someone should tell the thousands of "amateurs" that own Kel-Tecs... I'm pretty sure they are not "professional" enough to make them work... That's probably why Kel-Tec sells so many of them...

Keltecs work great for almost everybody-casual owners or "professionals."
But have you noticed that there are a few people who just can't seem to get them to work? I think some of those people have never really owned or shot one. Some may actually have had a problem, but these guys that say "I had 5 Keltecs, and none of them worked." are seriously pulling everyone's leg.

Kel-Tecs - man made, any thing man made is going to work, not work, work some times- work most of the time, work vary well. I have a Kel-Tec P-40, works every time ! Why they discontinued making them I don't know. Small, light weight it barks and has one hell of a bite. Just what your looking for when CCing. I carry mine as a work gun 5 days a week, my Kahr is my "casual dress" gun, have never had a problem with either one. "Better Half" has a .38 air weight, but has preferred a .380 Kel-Tec in a front pocket. I know several others that carry them with no problems. ;)
