Took a week in So, Carolina, had a great time with fellow hunting buddies and did score a nice 13 non-typical.

Nice buck. Been some good ones killed this year. My taxidermy bill is almost as much as my club dues this year. 1/2 way done.

Typically our deer are smaller with a mature buck being 165-180 if it's free range and forest. Agricultural deer get to be 200-220 if allowed to mature. The issue has been that a brown is down mentality has prevailed. With the floods and hurricanes the last two years have been poor on the harvest side. This year we've killed some nice bucks in the state while implementing a tagging system and much stricter limits. Hopefully the trend continues and more bucks reach maturity and are not killed at 1.5-2.5yo. I've killed two wallhangers and misjudged one I should have given a pass (got an itchy trigger finger).

On a side note, my taxidermist sent the jawbone from my 13 pt to the fish and game and by looking at the teeth deemed it to be 5.5 yrs old..Congrats on the 2 wallhangers salty dog..got pics?

I got pics but don't have a host since Photobucket decided you got to pay to play. One was a nice high rack 8 I took with my youngest son sitting with me for his first time ever with me solo. The other was an old bruiser heavy 8 that had his G2 broken. Can't decide whether to have it reconstructed on the mount which would make him a 9 with the kicker and give him the dignity of his full rack or as is in the respect of an old warrior.

Got another one I want bad with a hole in his ear I put in it 3 yrs ago due to that same boy dialing a foot of elevation into my Trijicon. Long story but me and that buck have a history, he's my Elanor. Just goes AWOL during deer season.
