Saw a shotgun at the gun show yesterday...

It was a 1967 single shot/ break action Remington 16 gauge. The barrel had been cut down to 18 inches. It was kind of cool looking but the guy wanted $150 for it. I told him that I'd give him $80, he said $120. I still thought this was a bit steep. What do you think?

The barrel is of major concern, 18 inches by who's tape measure? Anything less then 18, even 1/16 of an inch makes it a any other gun, subject to the $200 tax stamp.

One other thing I could not find a remington single shot made around 67', using the std cat. of firearms.
