Saw a KSG in Calif

I saw a Kel Tec KSG at the range today and got to play with it. The guy got it out of state and had it shipped to a CA ffl. He had no trouble he says.

I was wondering also. My impression as that the CalDOJ was putting off ruling on how to treat the KSG until it had to make a decision. I also wondred if the guy simply brought the gun into and was telling a littl fib when he said it went throught an FFL.

It was the first time they shot it and it was on a skeet field. I only watched a little bit and didn't see them break clay, but I was most interested in whether they were going to have an ejection problems or jams. I didn't notice any from a distance, but they were only loading one round at a time. I don't beleive they reven tried a double.

It looked like the ones pon the videos. I didn't have time to scrutinize it for quality such as burs, rough edges. More importantly than before it was shot would be how it did and the condition it was in after several rounds. Ask Daryn. He was checking it out when the guy was getting set.

That is what I heard, which is why I wish I had the time to stick around and see if his held up, but I had a guy waiting for me on the trap line. It may not have made any difference, but the gun is designed for buckshot and he was only allowed to shoot target loads. Nest time there I will ask the staff guys how it held up. They were busy but interested. It was kind of cool that he was showing his son how to shoot with it, and his son looked to me to be about 11.

It's legal in CA, due to the fact that it can only get through three or four rounds before jamming, effectively making the magazine capacity under 10 rounds.

Har har har! ;)

Go get an FN SLP and never look back :)

MW, you have a point there, the CA DOJ may be smarter than we give them credit.

That is what I call rye humor. (not a mispelling of wry, but as in rye whiskey)
