Savage Stevens Model 887 22LR striker adjustment

My dad has a Savage Stevens Model 887 .22LR Semi Auto and he asked me to look at it. It will only fire a 1-2 rounds at a time and then it wont fire. Is there any way to adjust how hard the striker(firing pin) whatever rimfire guns calls it

seems like the striker isn't hitting the cartridge hard enough to ignite it everytime. i just took it out and went through about 100 rounds and more i shot it, the better it seemed to get, but still had at least one in each set that wouldn't fire
