Savage/Stevens .22 Info

I have a Savage Model 72 ( .22 short, long, long rifle) that I bought new in the late 60's - early 70's. Wanting to get mfg date, and other info. Savage says they are too busy to answer e-mails at this time. Any ideas on getting info, and a manual ?

If it has serial number it was made after 68. That and you bought it in late 60's or early 70's is about as close as you're going to get.
 
FWIW, between 1949 and 1970, Savage stamped a circled letter date code into the action bottoms, starting with "A" in 1949, progressing to "X" in 1970, skipping "I", "O", & "Q".
