Savage Scope Base

Hey all, contemplating a Savage Model 12 VLP DBM .223 Rem for a next rifle. Great looking gun, 1:7" twist, the whole works.

When I looked up scope bases for it though, there are two styles listed, flat receiver, and round receiver. Which one would I need?? They are the same price, but just can't seem to find info on Savage's website regarding it.

well, if its a newer savage... then the rounded. As far as I know, the flat rear is for the pre-accutrigger

If the rifle is flat on the rear reciever then get the flat if its not flat get the round. The picture to me looks like its a flat reciever but youd have to look at the particular gun your going to purchase.
