A while back I asked about different riffles in 300 Win Mag and got some great tips. I have been doing my homework, held several examples in the shops. I have pretty well settled on Savage, (although I have not completely ruled out TC) But I still can't seem to sort out what is the difference between the Savage 11 series and 16 series?
here are 2 that are both designated "Trophy Hunter XP", with the only difference being 11 and 16 series. These are for comparison. I can't tell from Savage web site what the difference is? except about $120.
Model: 16/116 Trophy Hunter XP
Model: 11/111 Trophy Hunter XP
Here are 3 that I'm narrowing in on, look like they may be what I want. Synthetic stock, Stainless barrel, Accu-trigger,
Model: 16/116 FCSS
Model: 16/116 Bear Hunter
Model: 11/111 Long Range Hunter
again, looking for these models in 300 Win Mag. Mostly for hunting mule deer in CA mountains with sparse vegetation and longer shots. Just a little on targets more just to be sure I'm shooting well.
so what is the dif?
