Savage rifle base

My son purchased a Savage Model 12 .308 w/28 in. bull barrel, along with a Burris 6x18 Fullfield. A very nice package. He asked me to identify the stoutest (his words) base/ring combo. He is looking for a combo that will not shift, will not wander. I looked through all my catalogs, and there are quite a few choices, but without practical experience with each, I can't say which would be "stoutest." We would welcome any/all recommendations. Thanks for responding.
 
I just changed out the bases on my Savages with EGW-guns.com bases. I'll keep the Leupold QRW rings.
 
I have a EGW single pc. mount on my Savage FP, .308, 20" bull barrel, and so far I have hammered this rifle pretty hard, and the mount is definately a keeper. Just my 2cents worth.
