Savage parts

Well, still no luck on the .22 mag yet. The smith has replaced the firing pin, shaved it down so that it strikes in a more concentrated area, lengthened the distance it extends and it's still missfiring 1 out of 4 rounds. Not only that, but now it has a feeding and extracting problem, which he admitted was likely from just not being put back exactly right and he could fix that for me.

I am about fed up with it. The season is going to be closing in a few weeks and I still have no varmint or small game rifles. My .223 has no scope because the new Nikon was not holding zero, the .22 mag is out of commission and I don't own a shotgun yet.

I am just going to get a new bolt for the .22 mag. Does anyone know where I can get a model 93 .22mag bolt? I have searched and searched and cannot find any.

Thanks

I suspect that like many companies, Savage restricts sales of bolts due to the need to have them individually fitted, especially on guns like a .22 Magnum.

Your best best will be to call Savage and ask them.

The only other place that might have one is Jack First.

Ok. The gunsmith did say he would contact Savage to find out which route is best. I tried calling him today to find out what they told him, but I seemed to have missed him.
