Savage modl 12 stocks

John,

The short answer is it depends. Savage recently went to a centerfeed configuration and there aren't many ( if any ) companies that have caught up yet. You can check on the savage shooters site sometimes members have custom stocks made and will sell the original to fund the purchase. I think SavageShooterSupply has two models but I'm not sure they would handle a varmit countour barrel ,if not they could inlet it for you.

If you have an older rifle it would be stagerfeed and there are several manufacturers that can help you out. The Bell&Carlson Medalist is very popular.

This will be your best source of current info.

BTW "10" denotes Short Action , "110" denotes long action but you will need to check the reciever bolt spacing .

FWIW, I've got a ten year old 110FP stock on the 'bay right now... This is the synthetic one, but it does have room for a heavy barrel.

Personally, if you've got one of the laminated stocks, I'd keep it, unless you're looking for something for walking around...

(my 110BVSS-S is a .22-250 to which I added a bit of lead shot and epoxy... It weighs around 17 pounds).
