Savage model 120a Bolt help.

I recently picked up a Savage model 120a .22 single shot at a local shop and I am having a couple problems with it. It fires quite wonderfully and is extremely accurate but it fails to fire occasionally for some reason. I think the bolt may just need cleaned well as this little rifle had been in storage for a while.

Would anyone know how to disassemble the bolt if this is possible???
Any help here would be greatly appreciated! :)

IIRC, the bolt on the Model 120 is pinned together. I would not try to disassemble it unless you are familiar with it, which it sounds like you are not. Just soak it in solvent or spray it out with GunBlaster.

check the primer section of the unfired round... if well dented than it is the ammo! I will not buy remington .22 ammo for this reason. I have come close to or exceeded 10% failure rates with various lot numbers of Ramingjam ammo. Some failures from all brands of .22 bulk is expected since the rounds are not oriented up or down in shipping.
