Just got a this on a trade. Really like it. Looks to be a accurate rifle but still light enough to carry around all day. Looking for someone with some experience with these to point me in the direction with loads or even factory loads that will work well in this rifle. 20" barrel with 1-10 twist.

No 2 rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way. If you're not reloading you have to try a box of as many brands and bullet weights as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best.
I'd be using 165's with IMR4064. The .308 loves 'em and they'll kill any game in North America.

While true that no 2 rifles will not shoot the same. If someone has the same rifle chances are both will shoot the same load well (possibly not). I plan on reloading for it. I figured 165-168 would probably shoot the best. Also from what I have seen 4064 and Varget are good choices? I have both powders on hand.

Try looking for an accuracy node around 41.5 to 41.7gr of IMR4064 under a 168 to 175gr match bullet.

Expected velocity should be right around 2,500 fps from the carbine barrel, plus or minus 50 fps.

Dont overlook imr4166 either. My old go to load wad always lake city brass cci primer and 41.5gr of 4064. I have 3 rifles chamberd in 308 and that load shoots sub moa in them all. Lately i have been experimenting with imr 4166 and 41.7grains is delivering great groups and 100fps on average faster than 4064.

I have a 308 Savage model 10 FCP-k and a fellow shooter at the range a go to has the same rifle but it came with the BA chassi . His shoots my reloads just as well as they shoot in mine . I then saved a few pieces of fire formed brass from his gun and they measured the exact same as my fire formed cases . It makes sense though . The barrel and chambers are made likely at the same time with the same materials and tools . I'd expect them to be pretty close .

If you have 4064 and Varget you are good to go. There are lots of good 308 powders, but I'd bet you get good results with both of those. I read more recommendations for 4064 as being the most accurate 308 powder. I've used it with good results and gotten good speed. I have a slight preference for Varget simply because it is more resistant to temperature change. If it is any less accurate I can't tell in my hunting rifles.

I've used a wide variety of 165/168 gr bullets. They are a good compromise for most uses. Your 1:10 barrel should be good with some of the heaver high BC bullets if you ever want to try them. I haven't yet, but have seen some amazing things done at ranges approaching 2000 yards with a 308 and 215 gr bullets.

Reloader 15 also has a very fine reputation for accuracy in the 308 Win as well, just not as temp stable as Varget or 4064.

I haven't tried 4166 yet, but it's on my short list. The decoppering agent and temp stability make it very appealing.
