I have wanted one of these for years and finally traded for one last week at a show. It is the parkerized model with Dupont stocks in 20/.22lr. It was the dirtiest gun I've ever seen/bought. I spent an hour scrubbing surface rust off and blowing weeds (yes, weeds) out of every crack and crevice. The barrels took about ten passes with patch and brush. Other than a stain on the stock, it now looks as good as new. Can't wait to shoot it, it's a keeper (if it shoots well, that is).

I've always liked the look of the 24, but on the one my father-in-law has, the comb is so high that I can't get my eye down far enough to get a good sight picture. His is an old one (don't know how old), and maybe they aren't all like that?

I've always liked the concept. My granddad that I never got to meet bought one in .22/.410 (it's still in the family); I'm sure it's at least 40 years old, and that's conservative.

I shot it a time or two. It would probably make a nice rabbit/squirrel gun, but I'd rather have one like you have; I'm not that big a fan of .410.

You can't get .22 over 12-gauge, I kind of wish you could. Also, the .30-30/12-gauge might make a little sense where the critters get fairly big, I don't know... there's a number of different configurations to choose from.

Congratulations. Let us know how your specimen turns out.

Legionnaire: This one has nice tall rifle sights which seems tp put POA in the right place for me. I'll wait till I get outdoors before doing any practice firing.. HaHa.
