Savage cans the .300 AAC

I never did understand the use for this cartridge in non-suppressed applications.

The good thing about this cartridge is you get a 7.62 bullet in a AR15 lower using stock mags/BCG. As far as accuracy goes, the guys on 300blk.com seem to like it super and sub-sonic. However I would'nt buy a bolt gun in 300BLK, I would just assume go .308.
 
Why would any one want this in a bolt gun is beyond me anyway. It was designed for the AR-15 platform and does have its place with that.
 
I didn't know that they had even been considering it...

Inferior to other choices in typical applications in a bolt gun, and you can run other rounds (like .308) subsonic in them if desired.

For some reason front page news when I went to their site, so just passing along...
 
I think lots of people are canning the .300 AAC. I mean that's what it was made for right?
