savage 99 question

I'm a new member, collect Savage 95 and 99's as well as Savage pistols...I'm not sure i'm in proper forum, but here goes: I've found a 1911 99 and lbc is an "s" which I've never seen and Murray does not show, any suggestions on the "s" would be appreciated...if in wrong forum, set me straight..

LBCs

Savage did not start stamping/using the lever boss code until 1949. The LBC is an oval with 1 or digits followed by a letter stamped on the bottom just forward of the lever hinge pin. The letter after the numbers was used for the year. A for 1949, B for 1950, etc, and used up to about 1971. Earlier than 1949, a letter in that location is meerly an inspection stamp.
