savage 7.62x39 info needed

What can you tell me about the Savage bolt 7.62x39 rifles. Are they good to go w Wolf 123 gr hp? Any other input regarding these is welcome.
 
I just did some basic post reading and a guy slugged his at .308 diameter, although another owner reported he had no issues with the russkie .311 stuff.
 
There is no way to know if the rifle you purchase will like a particular ammo. Each barrel is different. I had one barrel that loved Federal PowerShok 150 grain ammo, the next one wouldn't shoot any better than 3" groups with the same ammo. You will have to find the ammo that your rifle likes through trial and error, although recommendations may narrow down the field a bit.
