im in need of a trigger assembly, but cant find one. I called savage and they told me they have them for 17 bucks but it is a gunsmith only part. called my gun dealer and he told me it would be around $40 through him... so my question is can you explain what the sear and yoke are on this rifle? I can find those and I think those might be the parts I'm needing inside my trigger assembly.. thanks in advance...

Since you are asking this question on an internet forum, and don't know what the yoke and sear are...

Pay the gunsmith 40 bucks for parts and labor.

I agree, pay the smith. I see a lot of "home-fixed" guns come into the shop to be fixed right. Besides, the difference between the $17 and $40 is to pay for shipping and the smith's time to make the call and figure out if the parts will really fix what your gun's problem is.

I have done several trigger jobs on ruger 10-22's and built severl AR-15 and 1911's so I feel comfortable working on this rifle. its literly only 3 screws. I hate to spend $40 on a $100 gun. The factory diagram doesnt label either of these parts but rather the whole assembly, although gunpartscorp.com has a sear and yoke parts in stock but dont have a picture to confirm my reasoning. the parts im needing are a dissconnector/trigger reset and the sear. All I need to know if these parts could be called something else such as a yoke? if you dont know then please dont post comments like " take it to the gun smith"... its a simple job and just need parts. thanks.

The sear is the part that holds the firing pin back. The yoke could be part of a bolt hold open system or part of the trigger assembly, not sure.

You can get the sear and yoke here http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Products.aspx?catid=4516 but I would try to get the whole assembly from Savage. Just because it is a "gunsmith only part" usually means that you have to sweet talk somebody to get it sent to you.
