As a natural result of having just bought my first .22 for target practice, less than a week later, I have fallen bass ackwards into a free .22. It belonged to my father in law, who passed away earlier this year, and we just found it while going through some of his things. It is a Savage model 489 - lever action, single shot. I am thinking about cleaning it up and passing it down to my son for his first rifle. I figure he would appreciate it since it was his grandpa's. I have tried to do some research on it, but I am coming up blank. Anyone know anything about this rifle?
