The 222 is a great old cartridge! At one time it held almost all the accuracy world records, and it still is used in competition shooting. It's basically a little shorter than the .223, and a little slower. If you wanted, probably you could get the barrel rechambered in .223, that'd make ammo easier to get and it wouldn't be very expensive to have done. Me myself, I'd keep her in the 222, I like the cartridge. Ammo is still available for it, and it is easy to reload, if you like reloading. It should be an accurate little thing, most 222's are. Hey, for that price, I'd jump on it. Hope this helps.
