Savage .22 LR Bolt Action Rifles

I recently bought a Russian TOZ 8M that doesn't shoot to my satisfaction. Good plinker with open sights, though.

A friend, that is a .22 LR afficionado, recommended the Savage Mark II LV, after I told him I'd like to stay around $200 for another rifle.

Any Savage MarkII LV or FV owners out there that would like to comment/recommend, one way or the other?

I don't know how it would compare but I picked up one of their package deals a while back. It was a model 93 heavy barrel version in 22mag. It came with a simmons 3X9 scope for $199. It really surprised me how well it shot considering how bad the trigger was. My gunsmith made the trigger much better but I haven't had a chance to shoot it since then. I'm sure it will be MOA or less. I bought it on impulse but it really looks and shoots good. Their web site makes it sound like the Mark II is better made. If that is true it should be a good gun for the money. Good Luck.
