Savage 111 7mm Mag Questions

Does anyone have any expierence with the Savage model 111? I understand that Savage's are so-called "poor man's rifles" but my frined has a very pretty and accurate Savage 110 and I was wondering what the difference in quality is between the two. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks

I have 2 savages 111's

both in 30-06, and both will shoot ... I've read that the Mossberg's will also shoot; I looked at a atr today at walmart, it was 269.95, in 7mm, had it been a 243, I would have bought it. poor man's gun? maybe the porr should be armed with quality firearms?:)
