Savage 110E Series J, need help

I'm hoping that someone can help me get this Savage 110 back together, I've hunted with it for years, and just tried taking it apart and cleaning it, got it back together, but somethings not right, and I have the dreaded extra piece. A u shaped box type piece that lord knows where it goes??? Any help with putting this great old gun back together the right way would be appreciated, sorry, but in over my head again!!!
 
you might try going to numrich gun parts and get a schematic for your gun. I find that pictures of mechanical things are easier for me to read than text.
 
Thanks for the help to all. I did check that link steve and sure enough that lil bugger was there and all is well with the 110. I appreciate all the offers of assistance. I think I'll start taking a digital picture in the future before I get too many parts spread out on the bench. Thanks again, dobroman
