Savage 110, Slightly Bent Synthetic Stock

I recently purchased a used savage 110 in a 30-06 pre-accutrigger with a synthetic stock. I brought it to the range today for the first time and it shoots like a charm.

One thing that I noticed is that the synthetic stock curves ever so slightly to the right. This creates a large gap between the barrel and the stock on the right side, however the stock touches the left side of the barrel. When I try to run a piece of paper down the gap between barrel and stock it takes a little work.

I understand that the savage barrel is supposed to float, however my bent stock is clearly messing up the float. I have two questions - 1) Does this slight fouling matter? and 2) If it does matter, how do I fix it?

Buying a new stock is out of the question as I would probably pay more than I did for the rifle itself!

Thanks for anyone who can help

Some sandpaper and you can restore the "float". Remove the action and barrel from the stock, sand down the areas that are touching the barrel and reassemble. If you want to do a complete job, re-bed the action.

Ignore the asymmetry of the forearm channel. It won't effect accuracy if it's not touching the barrel.

I have a black synthetic stock in real good shape that I took of my pre-accutrigger Savage 116 (stainless steel version of the 110) in 7mm Rem. Mag. that I will send to you for $35 delivered if you like. It's nice and straight and it should be a perfect drop-in fit for your rifle. I wanted a nice laminated thumbhole wood stock on mine is the only reason I switched it out.
